At Doha Oasis, sustainability isn’t a trend—it’s a commitment woven into the very fabric of our destination.
Consequently, as the world comes together to celebrate Earth Day, we’re proud to highlight the steps we’ve taken to reduce our environmental impact and build a more sustainable future for our guests, our community, and the generations to come.
Join us in celebrating progress. In choosing better. Ultimately, in making every day a step towards a greener future.
Our Earth, Our Responsibility
This Earth Day, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainable innovation. Indeed, at Doha Oasis, a shared purpose guides every step—from reducing carbon emissions to enhancing energy efficiency and minimizing waste—to protect the Earth while offering world-class experiences.
Our latest addition—electric vehicle (EV) charging stations—is more than just a convenience. In fact, by supporting electric mobility, we’re encouraging the shift toward cleaner, low-emission transportation. These smart chargers not only make it easier for EV drivers to stay powered up but also help users track their carbon savings, schedule off-peak charging, and monitor their energy use—all from a mobile app.
Behind the scenes, Doha Oasis operates on intelligent infrastructure. Specifically, with advanced building management systems and smart technologies, we optimize energy use across lighting, cooling, and more. Lights dim automatically when spaces are empty, and our cooling systems adjust in real-time based on demand—ensuring comfort without compromise. Furthermore, we even designed our irrigation to conserve water without sacrificing our lush green surroundings.
In our kitchens, we’ve introduced cutting-edge tools to tackle food waste at the source. Through real-time tracking and predictive insights, these tools empower our culinary teams to make smarter decisions—minimizing excess, reducing spoilage, and thereby contributing to a more responsible food system. The result is less waste and more impact.
Using the Winnow WMS, cafeteria food waste, including production waste, plate waste, and trimming waste is accurately tracked and recorded. This data offers valuable insights into what types of food are being wasted and at what times waste is highest, enabling more informed decisions and effective strategies to reduce overall food waste.
Partnering with Al Suwaidi, all used paper is systematically collected and recycled into new usable products. Cardboard materials are also recycled, ensuring effective waste management and supporting sustainable resource utilization.
Our partner, GBO, collects and recycles used cooking oil, ensuring it is properly processed and repurposed in an environmentally responsible manner.
Used Nespresso coffee capsules are collected and recycled, ensuring the materials are properly recovered and repurposed in an environmentally responsible manner.
We encourage practices that reduce environmental impact, such as minimizing water consumption through mindful linen and towel reuse. By adopting eco-friendly initiatives, including the use of reclaimed water, biodegradable amenities, and responsible resource management, we aim to preserve nature while delivering a conscious and comfortable experience.
Our Building Management System (BMS) enables more efficient monitoring and control of HVAC systems. It can automatically adjust operations based on factors such as occupancy levels, time of day, and external weather conditions, leading to improved energy efficiency and optimized indoor comfort.
Avoiding the use of plastic altogether, our F&B outlets utilize wooden cutlery.
Above all, we believe sustainability should enhance, not limit, the guest experience. Whether it’s dynamic digital signage or wayfinding, we’re using technology to craft seamless journeys that are not only engaging—but also efficient and environmentally mindful.
Happy Earth Day from all of us at Doha Oasis.
